Gender Equality
Although it has greater adverse effects on the section whose life relies on natural resources and who is unable to respond to natural disasters, women are facing higher risks and greater burdens from the impacts of global problems (war, poverty, etc.) The inequality is often accelerated by the unequal participation of women in decision-making processes and labor markets, and results in the exclusion of women in all policy-making practices.
Women’s involvement in the response to global solutions is crucial due to their local knowledge and capacity in leadership at sustainable practices and brings about a higher level of readiness for the impacts of the disasters we all face. Hence, gender equality is one of the core values with which we adapt our policies and projects should be incorporated.
Vulnerable Groups (Leave no one behind)
According to the IPCC (2014), vulnerability is the propensity or predisposition to be adversely affected, and people who are socially, economically, culturally, politically, institutionally, or otherwise marginalized are especially defined as vulnerable groups. Therefore, in design of our programs and activities we foreseen vulnerable groups and aim not to leave anyone behind.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth. Thus, they are at the center of our design in adaption actions and developing strategies.
